It does require some preparation but its well worth it.
1 cup of raw almonds (soaked in 2 cups of water for 24 hrs, then drain)
8 dates (soaked in hot water for 10 mins until soft)
Blend almonds (with 2 cups of fresh water) and date mix for 30 seconds, strain through strainer or muslin cloth
Place almond milk in saucepan and mix in 1-2 tsp of raw cacao powder (to your taste) heat to the temperature you desire.
The dates should sweeten it nicely but you can add a dash of honey/agave/stevia, your sweetener of choice.
What to do with the leftover almond meal?
Roast them on a baking tray for about 25 mins. They can then be stored in a container and added to many things. Try them sprinkled over some natural yoghurt with poached pears
or used with oats and chopped dates as a apple crumble topping – delicious!
